Access to social media, online news, and digital government services allows people to stay informed and engaged. Those without access are often excluded, leading to a lack of representation and participation in democratic processes.
Two impacts:
- People without ICT cannot easily join online civic discussion or follow news, so their views are less represented.
- In Pakistan, e-government services are more available in cities, so rural populations have limited means to take part in governmental processes or access social services.
