Phishing is a scam where someone pretends to be a trustworthy organization to trick you into giving away personal information. You may get an email that looks like it comes from your bank, asking you to click a link and enter account details.
Pharming redirects you to a fake website without your knowledge. You type the bank's real URL, but you are sent to a counterfeit site that looks genuine. If you enter login details there, the scammer collects them.
Phishing tricks you into clicking; pharming hijacks the destination even when you type the address. Guard against pharming by checking https:// and the padlock in the address bar.
