18.5 Waveform on Oscilloscope
A Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO) is an electronic instrument used to display, observe, and measure how electrical signals change with time. The main component is a cathode ray tube (CRT), which includes:
- Electron gun: generates a focused beam of electrons.
- Deflecting system: consists of Y-plates (vertical deflection) and X-plates (horizontal deflection).
- Fluorescent screen: glows when struck by the electron beam, creating a visible trace.
