Introduction
Given a subspace, everything perpendicular to it forms another subspace — its orthogonal complement. This splits space into two non-overlapping parts and explains why a plane or hyperplane can be described by a single normal vector, the way linear classifiers describe their decision boundary. We finish by extending inner products from lists of numbers to functions.
