2.4 Equations of Motions

Equations of motion can be used to describe the motion of an object in terms of its three kinematic variables: velocity vv, position SS and time tt. There are three ways to pair these variables up: velocity-time, position-time and velocity-position. In this order, they are called first equation of motion, second equation of motion and third equation of motion, respectively.

These equations of motion can only be applied to those objects, which are moving in a straight line with constant acceleration.
