Cover-up method

If:

P(x)(x−a)(x−b)=Ax−a+Bx−b\frac{P(x)}{(x-a)(x-b)}=\frac{A}{x-a}+\frac{B}{x-b}

then after clearing denominators:

P(x)=A(x−b)+B(x−a)P(x)=A(x-b)+B(x-a)

Putting x=ax=a gives AA, and putting x=bx=b gives BB.

Discuss theoretical concepts, mathematical formulas, and architectural foundations.
